Vocabulary learning and teaching is a difficult issue to many learners and teachers in L2 acquisition. This paper introduces a vivid way to teach English vocabulary as a second language. It first reviewed some researches in vocabulary acquisition, and then put forward the theories about associative method. At last it introduced a trial of applying associative method among non-English majors in teaching English vocabulary. The results show that this method is really vivid and fruitful.
