TEACHER TRAINEES in Practice Teaching collaborate with a view to synergizing their teaching abilities as they share the lesson. The Teacher Trainer (TT), together with the peers, then proceeds to offer a postmortem analysis of the performance after having mutely observed the teacher.

This paper argues that real time feedback is more effective than post facto dissection. It involves the sensitizing of the TT in the appropriate ways and means for a customized intervention under “real operative conditions”. For, the simple fact is that the trail can go cold at a later stage, and the feedback is mentally enacted rather than immediately implemented. The entailed re-conceptualization of the TT’s role is the subject of our action research involving an experimental group through, inter alia, questionnaires and observation, ranging along lesson planning and materials design.
