Classroom attendance is often one of the most necessary and important means of learning and, in many classes, it is essential to achieve the educational objectives of the course. It is absolutely vital that students attend class regularly. Students are expected to attend classes regularly. Irregular attendance interferes generally with learning and has a negative effect on performance. A prerequisite to success in any educational institutions is attendance; absentees miss opportunity of learning provided to students in the classroom. Teachers can encourage students attendance in a variety of ways. Inherently most faculty probably believes that attendance is important in student success but most of us can provide only anecdotal evidence to support our belief. It is essential to explore of why students choose to miss classes in spite of the clear benefits of attendance.
