Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
At IJELLH, we welcome scholarly manuscripts from authors worldwide. IJELLH limits its scope to English Language, Literature, and Linguistics. Papers outside these fields will not be considered.
Authors are free to choose between APA, MLA, or any other recognized citation styles for manuscript writing and citations, based on institutional guidelines, university requirements, or personal preference. While it is not mandatory to adhere strictly to either APA or MLA, we strongly recommend following the fundamentals of research paper writingwithin your manuscript.
When preparing your manuscript, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- The research paper or article must be plagiarism-free and present original research with distinctive content.
- The research paper must not be published elsewhere or be under review for publication in another journal.
- Both the Abstract and Conclusion should emphasize your original research. The conclusion should be self-contained and easily understood without needing to reference other sources.

Use of Images
As part of our commitment to ethically and legally supporting plagiarism-free material, we also emphasize the importance of the quality and originality of images used in research articles. We encourage authors to include only original images for which they hold full copyright. If you wish to avoid purchasing images, you may use royalty-free images.
Images should be original, free from alterations or software manipulation, and must adhere to copyright laws. All materials in your article, including content, images, data, and tables, must be plagiarism-free and free from any copyright violations. We strictly advise our authors to refrain from using any infringing material, which could lead to legal complications in the future.
Copyright issues typically arise from the use of copyrighted images or content that is not properly cited. As a publishing house, we have a strict policy against using copyrighted material without the owner’s explicit permission. To help you find suitable images, we recommend exploring the following platforms, which offer millions of copyright-free images:
How to Write in-text Citations:
- The first and foremost rule is that all in-text citations must have a mention in the Works Cited/References also. Please do remember to cite all the in-text Citations on the Works Cited/References page at the end of the paper. Likewise, all Works Cited/References must be mentioned appropriately in in-text Citations too, both must complement or correlate with each other. Hence it is essential to add Work Citations for each in-text citation added in the body of the text else the manuscript will be deemed incomplete and will be rejected.
- Please write page number in-text citations. It means if you are writing your manuscript in APA style include the author’s last name, publication year and page number ( Shakespeare. 2018,p. 07), on the other hand, if you are employing MLA style in writing your manuscript, do include the author’s last name and the page number ( Shakespeare 07) that is mandatory; though you can include publication year also.
- If the author’s name is missing in the source or article then add a few words from the heading followed by the page number in parenthesis. For example, “Dolly and I greeted each other with a slight nod” (Two States 62).
- If the author is already named in the sentence, you only need to include the page number in parentheses:Example: According to Shakespeare, ......................... (p 07).
- For the quotations culled from Internet-Based Sources don’t write the complete URL in; in-text citation. Write only the writer's name and page number (if available). If the writer’s name is missing, write only the title and section/page numbers (if applicable).
How to Write Works Cited/References:
Please follow the basic general format and core elements for any citation:
Author, Title of Source, Title of container (do not list container for stand-alone books, e.g. novels), Other contributors (translators or editors), Version (edition), Number (vol. and/or no.), Publisher, Publication Date, Location (pages, paragraphs URL or DOI). 2nd container’s title, Other contributors, Version, Number, Publisher, Publication date, Location and Date of Access (if applicable).

List Works Cited of the online electronic journal the title of the source in quotation marks and the title of the container in italics, followed by a comma and the date of publication. We recommend you to provide the date you accessed the online source at the end of the citation but it is not mandatory.
