Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
IJELLH has published scientific scholarly manuscripts from authors all over the globe. We understand that authors from different countries follow different writing styles. To provide ease to the authors we have not had a strict writing style, perhaps we need a basic citation style from authors. No matter which citation style you follow most citation styles often require the same type of data though they are just arranged in a different way. The foremost rule is that all Works Cited /References must have a mention or correlate with in-text Citation in the manuscript body.
The authors are requested to follow the below-mentioned author guidelines:
- The research paper or article must be plagiarism free and original with unique research content.
- The research paper should not be published elsewhere or reviewed for any other journal publication.
- IJELLH has restricted its scope to English Language, Literature, and Linguistics, therefore, a research paper written apart from these subject areas will not be considered.
- The abstract and Conclusion should focus on your original research, not on the work of others. The conclusion should be self-contained and fully understandable without reference to other sources.
Research Paper Formatting Rules:
From time to time we've changed the style of our published research articles. This is the updated and revised style as per the new guidelines. You may find earlier published papers in different styles.
- Research Paper Formatting Rules:
- The paper should only be in the font style “Times New Roman".
- The size of the font should be 12 points. The paper must be double-spaced throughout, including the title page, all quotations, notes, and references page.
- The Title’s Alignment should be Center Aligned. The size of the font should be 16 points. Do not underline, italicize, or place your title in quotation marks. Write the title in Title Case (standard capitalization rule), but the exception will be there if you are writing the subtitle.
- The author's name should be Left Aligned.
- The abstract should be Center Aligned. The ideal word limit is 200- 250 words.
- Keywords must be added after the paragraph of the Abstract.
- The paragraph of the Abstract should have normal alignment without any indent. The rest of all paragraphs’ first line should be indented to .5 inches from the left margin.
- The page Margin should be 1-inch on the top, bottom, left and right sides.
- All Headings should only have initials capitalized like Abstract, Introduction, Conclusion. Headings should never be bolded or italicized. They should always have normal formatting.
- Works Cited or References should be on a separate page at the end of the manuscript. In-text citations and Works Cited/references should co-relate with each other.
- Works Cited or References should be Center aligned (only title)
- If a references line exceeds and goes to the second line then it should have an indentation of .5 inch margin.
- The research paper must ideally range from 1500 – 6000 words.
- Works Cited/references must have proper inclusion in the body of a manuscript to avoid any plagiarism.
- All figures, images, and tables of the manuscript should be embedded into the original text. Separate files or documents will not be accepted.
- Note: If you are not able to format your manuscript, send it as an M.S. Word file, and we will format it according to our protocol.
Use of images:
As we ethically and legally support only plagiarism-free material and contents of the article, we are equally concerned about the quality of the images. We do encourage our authors to use only original images with full copyright holdings. If you do not want to spend money on images, then use royalty-free images. The images should be original, altered free and free from any kind of software manipulation. All the material (contents, images, data, and tables) used in the article must be plagiarism-free and free from copyright issues. We strictly advise our authors and readers not to use the infringed material of any kind, which may cause any legal issues or problems in the future.
Copyright issues can only be raised against the use of copyrighted content, or images or if the content is not cited properly. As a publishing house, we have a policy not to use copyrighted content without the owner's permission. We suggest our authors search and download images from the sites below-mentioned. They have millions of copyright-free images that may be used. You can even use images from Wikipedia if necessary.

How to Write in-text Citations:
- The first and foremost rule is that all in-text citations must have a mention in the Works Cited/References also. Please do remember to cite all the in-text Citations on the Works Cited/References page at the end of the paper. Likewise, all Works Cited/References must be mentioned appropriately in in-text Citations too, both must complement or correlate with each other. Hence it is essential to add Work Citations for each in-text citation added in the body of the text else the manuscript will be deemed incomplete and will be rejected.
- Please write page number in-text citations. It means if you are writing your manuscript in APA style include the author’s last name, publication year and page number ( Shakespeare. 2018,p. 07), on the other hand, if you are employing MLA style in writing your manuscript, do include the author’s last name and the page number ( Shakespeare 07) that is mandatory; though you can include publication year also.
- If the author’s name is missing in the source or article then add a few words from the heading followed by the page number in parenthesis. For example, “Dolly and I greeted each other with a slight nod” (Two States 62).
- If the author is already named in the sentence, you only need to include the page number in parentheses:Example: According to Shakespeare, ......................... (p 07).
- For the quotations culled from Internet-Based Sources don’t write the complete URL in; in-text citation. Write only the writer's name and page number (if available). If the writer’s name is missing, write only the title and section/page numbers (if applicable).
How to Write Works Cited/References:
Please follow the basic general format and core elements for any citation:
Author, Title of Source, Title of container (do not list container for stand-alone books, e.g. novels), Other contributors (translators or editors), Version (edition), Number (vol. and/or no.), Publisher, Publication Date, Location (pages, paragraphs URL or DOI). 2nd container’s title, Other contributors, Version, Number, Publisher, Publication date, Location and Date of Access (if applicable).

List Works Cited of the online electronic journal the title of the source in quotation marks and the title of the container in italics, followed by a comma and the date of publication. We recommend you to provide the date you accessed the online source at the end of the citation but it is not mandatory.
