EFL INSTRUCTOR: MR. EYAD AHMAD MANFI ALBESHTAWI

AL-GHAD INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE FOR HEALTH SCIENCES

Abstract

This subject of study was designed to investigate learning style preferences among AlGhad International College for Health Sciences students in Saudi Arabia-Dammam. It was directed by two research questions. What are the common styles of learning that AlGhad students used in learning English at AlGhad International College for Health Sciences? And is there a relationship between the learning styles used by AlGhad students in learning and their academic achievement? This research used an adopted version of the perceptual learning style preferences questionnaire (PLSPQ) instrument by Reid (1984). It was found that the students learning style preferences were high in visual and kinaesthetic learning styles. However, it was found that the students learning style was low in tactile and individual learning styles. It was also found that there was a significant relationship between the learning style and the academic achievement
