Introduction

It is often said that the anxieties of the present, lead an individual in quest of an imaginary future, an idealistic Utopian world of one’s own creative mind; but escapism is not always futuristic at times it tracks back to the memories of the past and makes one feel ‘nostalgic’ .Looking back creates a strong urge to re-live the old time though one dares not to lose the lost people and time again. The dissatisfaction and discontent with the present may induce an escapism in an individual which may either lead to nostalgic emotions, or creating an imaginary Utopia ,or both. That is oscillating between past and future, between nostalgia and utopia.
