Abstract

Communication skills have turned out to be life skills now a days and a key for survival in a professional world.  Soft skills as one of the branches of Communication skills accelerated the level of success among Indian professionals and made them superior to compete and adapt themselves in a global environment. Soft skills basically refer to assorted attitudes that assist professionals to endeavour and fraternize with the dynamic world. Indians have contributed a lot in the professional world in a less time period because good communication skills act as a vehicle to professional success. In the contemporary era, where seeking a good job has become a very tough gold to achieve, soft skills enable a person to compete in the milieu of job seekers. For effective soft skills, we need to develop ourselves intrapersonally, extra personally, psychologically, socially, and interpersonally and to emulate adaptive skills that help us to develop an effective personality. The first object in developing soft skills is to recognize oneself in a proper manner. We have to start analyzing and evaluating our social, communicational and management attitudes.

 The paper will explore how since last two decades English language and literature with undercurrent of Communication skills and soft skills seem to serve the human needs. Indians professionals have worked hard on their communication skills and have attained their dream jobs; we are not working only in our developing nation but have also been invited to work on top positions by developed nations. Thus the present study, which is a blend of several life skills in English language, will set new milestones to the future generations who crave for success.
