Amish Tripathi is a recognized contemporary Indian fiction writer best known for writing “The Shiva Triology”. His novels are mixture of classical mythology, fantasy fiction, popular science, philosophy and history. “Immortals of Meluha” is the first novel of Shiva triology series. In this novel Tripathi has exhibited the transformation of tribal Shiva into Neelkanth. Amish Tripathi has demonstrated that all Gods were once human beings. It was their deeds in the human life that made them famous as Gods. The objective of this paper is to exhibit how a tribal Shiva transforms into Lord Neelkanth and becomes a saviour for Meluhans. The Meluhans are waiting for the Neelkanth and they find their fabled saviour in Shiva. The study concludes that destroyer of the evil becomes god because of his deeds and a man becomes a Mahadev only when he fights for good.
