Literature is the carbon copy of the wide world likewise; women are the specimen of an agony. Though they have undergone an intolerable pain in their life, they are not recognized by the society. Literature is the one which dwindle the world into pages so, it stands as an evidence for the period. It is all about the portrayal of women in the various genres of English Literature in order to bear out the significance of the wonderful create “women”. Comparison helps in better understanding of the content and this comparison falls under the inter specific type of comparison. The term feminism is first coined by French philosopher Charles Fourier in 1837.

Literature is divided into three main divisions namely Prose, Poetry, Drama during the ancient days. From that period to till now the voices of women in literature are highly welcomed by the audience. Later it has developed into various forms like novel, short story, novella etc…..Literature is one which depicts the world in pages. So, it has accepted the changes for its development. While feminist around the world have differed in causes, goals and intentions depending upon the time, culture and country, most western feminist historians assert that all movements that work to attain women’s rights should be considered even they did not apply the term to themselves. People and activists who discuss or advance women’s equality prior to the existence of the feminist movement are sometimes labeled as protofeminist. Protofeminism is philosophical tradition that anticipates modern feminism in an era when a concept of feminism is unknown.
