Bharati Mukherjee, a prominent immigrant writer, known for her understated prose style and her ironic plot developments and witty observations.  The psyche of the South Asian immigrants is the main concern of Bharati Mukherjee, who herself belongs to this class.  She mixes her own feelings, as she herself a unit of the Diaspora, splurges the sequences into the storyline, signing in her personal knowledge and experience.  She in the great mind world envisages various happenings, extrapolating events and tempering with beauty.  The other side is always green, or so we think, until we take a closer look.  The life of the Diaspora, bending and squeezing in the alien law and culture, unable to let go either their roots and or cling to the new truth.  This paper focuses on Mukherjee’s Wife, Dimple Dasgupta who fails to create balance between her Indian ethics and American sensibility.
