Abstract

This paper compares the measure terms of Assamese and Bodo, two genetically unrelated languages of Assam in North-east India, which share a long history of areal contact. As numeral classifier languages, measure terms constitute an important topic of study for both of them. Therefore, there is much need and scope for studying this phenomenon, especially in a comparative light.
