Abstract

Elizabeth Jennings was one of the nine Movement Poets. She is the only female poetess among this group. Elizabeth Jennings was a 20th Century British poet. She has been grouped as one of the Movement poets because of her few resemblances with this group. Her Poetry has been colored by Romantic Poetics, Confessionalism, the Movement touch, an autobiographical outlook and religion and art. Though she denies being labeled as a confessional poet there are certain elements in her poem which are confessional. This paper tries to look at her poems from the same angle.
