In the Puruliya districts mainly producing Tasar silk and Arjun tree is mainly use for sericulture production. The study estimates the productivity and profitability of the sericulture across the three seasons of the year and it varies across the seasons. Production is high for the season1 and season 3 but labour productivity is high in the season 1 and season 2. The profitability is high only in the season 3. Labour productivity and profitability will increase with the increase of expenditure on Disease free laying (DFls) and chemical fertiliser whereas land plays an important role in the sericulture production.
