Sociolinguistics
Abstract
A speech community is identified as a group of people who form a community (a village, a region or a nation) and who have at least one speech variety in common. They communicate with that one speech variety among themselves quite easily. The linguist analyse the speech community on the basis of psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics and anthropological linguistics. Psycholinguistics studies the mental processes, process of thought and concept formation and the articulation in language. Sociolinguistics deals with the exploration of the relation between language and society and the anthropological linguistics deals with the evolution of language in human society and its role in the formation of culture.
