Deconstructive Study of Yann Martel’s Life of Pi to Widen the Scope of the Text
Abstract
According to Jacques Derrida, any structure in any field needs to be rethought from various perspectives for the better interpretation of the text. A reader should have his own interpretation of the text. A text should be read through reader’s own understanding, experience and conceptions in their life. Jacques Derrida was born in El-Blair close to French Algiers in 1930. Derrida came with his first book ‘Of Grammatology’ in 1960’s. The book was about how our reading of literary text should be done. The word Deconstruction comes from a French word ‘Deconstuire’ which means to improve the development of something.
