The suppression and Struggle of the plight of subaltern women is portrait in the works of Mahasweta Devi and in particularly in her play “Bayan”. A woman is a woman because of the strict conventional belief weaved around her by male-dominated society. In the play “Bayen”, Chandidasi is a protagonists, as a woman she suffers a lots throughout her life. She belongs to community of Kalu Dome, who faces many challenges at several levels. She was not only deployed by the social rights, but also those which she deserved as a human. It is remarkable that chandi, after declaring as a Bayan, faces these problem not by upper class society but by her own community and by her own people. Throughout the play Chandi could be seen struggling for her own self identity
