Translation on Masterpieces of Indian Literature

Translation plays an important role in literature and it is different from other category of literatures. It acts as a tool for the other language works of various writers of English. Some of the important and various literatures that we focus on the translation literatures are Latin, French, Italian, Greek, Sanskrit, German, and so on. All the literatures have their own aesthetic pleasures of their own nationality. We are not to be certain that all knows all the languages of the world so we are in need of the device called translation. Even today it has an important role of translation everywhere in all the field of work. But it is specific in literatures. It should convey the same spirit and manner of the original work of the author. There are various types of translation they are Word translation, Paraphrasing or meaning oriented translation, Sense -for- sense translation, Gloss translation, Hybrid translation, Radical translation, and Machine-aided translation. Some of the important ancient period works that were translated in various languages are The Tale of Genji from the language Japanese, The Iliad, The Odyssey, Oedipus the king from Greek, Ramayana and Mahabharata from Sanskrit, The Rubaiyat from Persian, Beowulf from west Saxon, The Alchemist from Portuguese and so many translated works from various languages. Now days it has a major role in Indian Literature in English, various languages from India has their own path on translation in English Literature. Some of the various languages where major translation are made Bengali, Tamil, Guajarati, Malayalam, and Marathi…etc. Some of the major writers of the Indian translation are Mahashawata Devi, Neela Padmanaban, B.K.Battachariya, Tara Shanka Banarjee, Vasuthaman…etc. Through this paper we can come across the importance and the various translated works of ancient and also the Indian translated work.
