Indo-Anglican literature forms an integral part of English literature. Though Indian writing in English was shaped and sustained by male writers, it was women writers who struggled to create a new and unexplored space for women. The image of the women and her struggle for an identity of her own also emerges as a dominant theme in the Indian English novel. Mrs.Nergis Dalal, Mrs.Veena Paintal, Mrs.Bharathi Mukherjee and Mrs.Raji Narasimhan who are of late receiving due recognition have a good record of literary output to their credit. Nergis Dalal, who has enriched Parsi writing in English is mainly a writer of prose and occasional periodical articles. Minari published in1967, accelerates a constant interaction of history, and, the past with the present perceptions of life.
