Position of Dalit Women Among Dalit With Reference to Bama’s Karukku And Sangati
Abstract
Dalit Literature is a recent dimension of subaltern literature which focuses on the social condition and marginalization on the oppressed people and religious minority. Dalit Literature and dalit activism reach an extensive and excessive in twenty first century, especially in Southern part of India. Dalit Literature describe issues such as exploitation, discrimination, malnutrition and growing death rate of the underprivileged sections of India. In Tamil Nadu a commendable attempt to connect penniyam (feminism) and dalityam (dalit studies) has been recorded by Bama, whose Karukku and Sangati speaks about the unheard history of dalit women. The paper titled “Position of Dalit Women Among Dalit” discuss about the foreground oppression of Dalits by the upper caste and the form of exploitation extends to social, economic, political and sexual spheres of their life.
