Abstract

Spirituality and Nature are indispensable to human existence. It is only through nature that man has learnt to experience divinity, and no religion exists without the influence of nature. But today, the world we live in has turned its back on nature and therefore, Spirituality also. Hence, it is necessary to study a modernistic fiction like Hermann Hesse’s Siddhartha to rediscover the long forgotten values and find a new enlightened way of living. Right from his birth to his enlightenment, nature plays an important part in his spiritual journey. The purpose of the research is to elucidate how far nature has helped Siddhartha in his unending search for his true self from an Eco-Spiritual pint of view and highlight its relevance to the modern world.
