Abstract

Patriarchy defines woman as incomplete, dark, passive, irrational and hysterical. Modern women override gender distinctions and venture in quest of their identity and space for existence. Their feminine strength boosts them to trample the moral codes and conventions to to find their own feminine desire. This paper throws light on the New Women womenprotagonists whotransgress the laws of patriarchy to gain autonomy over their body without any humiliation. It is indeed the rebirth of their personality, rebirth of their feminine strength and rebirth of their own existence.
