Abstract

Arvind Adiga, the Man Booker prize winner of 2008, in his writings deals with the socio-cultural conditions of India and of China in the second half of the twentieth century. Adiga like Charles Dickens is a critic as well as social scientist who intellectually points out the socio-cultural elements of his own time and of his own country in his the debut novels and in short stories. The structure of post- colonial society of India and of China is portrayed in his writings.
