Abstract

The research paper is focused on the last work of fiction by a Nobel Laureate, Gabriel Garcia Marquez titled Memories of My Melancholy Whores. The work of fiction has received much appreciation since its publication but it also received a lot of backlash for its unethical representation in the name of love. So, the prime aim of the researcher is to give clarity on its criticism. The study highlights all the negatives and positives of the writing and points out the different perspectives of readers. It also talks about the brilliancy of a writer like Marquez who has used such sensitive topic of prostitution with so much grace and dignity.
