Abstract

The term "American Dream" was first used by James Truslow Adams in in his book "The Epic of American" in 1931. He points out that the American dream is that dream of a land in which life should be better, richer and fuller for everyone, with the opportunity for each according to ability or achievement. The American dream is a national, it holds of the United States, set of ideas; democracy, rights , liberty, opportunity and equality. American dream is rooted in the declaration of independence, “all men are created equal” with the right life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”. The U.S. constitution promotes similar freedom in the preamble to “for the blessings of liberty to ourselves and the posterity”. These are so many writings and books which are highly appreciated works, e.g. “American dream by F. Scott Fitzgerald 'The Audacity of hope' by Barack Obama , 'lnvisible Man' by Ralph Ellison,  'Death of salesman' by Arthur Miller and so on. American dream has always been one of the most popular issue in American literature. It is with the discovery of North American continent the development of the enlightenment and establishment of the capitalist economy and the westward movement. The social values of Americans, gradually formed are different from the other countries that the United States had considerable economic freedom. So many Americans believe that such an opportunity to get a success can be found.
