Abstract

Mahatma Gandhi is an immense source of writing and has influenced different disciplines. Many writers from different fields like history, politics, philosophy, literature, sociology and so on, have him or his ideology as their central themes. In Indian English Literature, one can easily sense that the then time was grossly occupied by ‘Gandhian consciousness’ socially, culturally and politically. Mr. M. K. Naik comments, “Indian Writing in English literature of the Gandhian age was inevitably influenced by these (the then political and social) epoch-making developments in Indian life.
