Abstract

            Imagery is integral part of poetry. It uses figures of speech and other poetic devices. Agha Shahid Ali was a Kashmiri-American poet and creative writer. He has painted Kashmir, India and America in his poems. He has portrayed his homeland Kashmir with two different views. He has depicted not only the physical beauty of nature but also portrayed the contemporary issues of Kashmir. History, culture, art, migration have occupied the major space in his poetry. Agha Shahid Ali makes use of vivid imagery in his work effectively and creatively.
