Emerging Trends in English Language Teaching in Modern Days

Abstract

India is developing country and status of English is second language of teaching of English. English has become real challenge right from the beginning of the history of English language teaching till date. The teachers have been introducing new methodologies and the trends keep changing. English is the best medium to communicate with people across the globe. The accents may be different the pronunciation may be different but it definitely helps in conveying the feelings, emotions and sentiments of one person to another. English start in India with the status of foreign language and much hated language. Today it has become a status symbol for the upper class. In the 20^th century English language started emerging as a global language and the Indian classroom environment also changed based on the needs of the learner.
