Abstract

The paper focuses on the panoramic view of the genre Bildungsroman and the origin of Frauenroman genre from it. It furthers explores the adoption and the adaption of Frauenroman in Byatt’s short story, The Story of the Eldest Princess, to understand revisions made by her in the genre of Frauenroman. The revision attempts to bring an analogy between traditional practice of the genre and the revision.
