The identity of women is a curious topic considering the writers of literature. It excited The authors both past and present. Yet we haven’t come up with a proper solution. The first thing to be checked is of course the mentality of ours. We have to dissolve the unwritten rules of the society in order to break the chains unseen. Whether we are ready for such a restructuring is another question. Can we ever wake up to a dawn in which women are treated alike men? World is very much for men and his opinions. No man can accept a woman with her own individuality and views. Her presence is always shadowy. Her picture is always vague while considering the society as a canvas. Here we can have a look at Margaret Atwood’s poetry, “This is a photograph of me”. The poet skillfully rendered the position of women in this male chauvinistic world. We can have an objective analysis of her theme in this paper.
