AbstractCarl Gustav Jung’s archetype of the outcast outlines a figure sidelined from the mainstream of life.The outcast wanders from place to place and is typically considered to be bereft of the company he so aspires to have.The aim of this paper is to present Grant the protagonist of Alice Munro’s story ?The Bear Came over the Mountain? from her story collection of ?Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage? as a typical archetype of the Swiss Psychologist Carl Jung’s Outcast.
