Abstract

            This research paper is an attempt to make a comparative studies between R.K Narayan’s fictional town Malgudi and Khushwant Singh’s Mano Majra.  Both are Indian writers who introduced fictional town in their writings.  Eventhough they have introduced fictional place, their writings are based on real time situations.  They depict symbols, images that are deeply rooted in Indian society.  This paper attempts to bring out the creative nature of Indian authors in creating fictional towns in a realistic way, and their writings which have contributed to the world literature.
