We learn many things from many ways. But, how do we teach and why do we teach? The paper stresses upon the role and need of English literature in our lives and what skills the future engineers of India require to attain. The language teachers from all over the world burn the midnight oil to promote the LSRW skills to our pupils. It is our (the teachers?) responsibility to shape the young minds to fly high in ?life and career?. We may define literature as a written piece of material or text, but is that all about literature! It may also be defined as ?the work of creative imagination including works of poetry, drama, fiction and non- fiction etc. and as a subject it promotes traditions, culture, social values, morality and national unity.? This paper brings out a handful of values that can be uncovered from literature especially for the modern-age students.
