Abstract

The present paper aims at depicting Krishna's journey towards authenticity through his wife in The English Teacher. Krishna, an English lecturer in Albert Mission College, Malgudi is an inauthentic person in his life. He undertakes an emotional, intellectual and spiritual journey through involvement with his wife and her soul after her death. Conversation with Susila's soul takes Krishna towards authenticity in his life by maturing and developing his mind.
