The Impact of TASC Model on Iraqi EFL Preparatory School Students’ Speaking Anxiety
Abstract
The present study aims at finding out the effect of TASC model on Iraqi English as a foreign language school students’ speaking anxiety. The sample of the study includes 62 female secondary school students in Baghdad Governorate during the academic year 2018-2019. The sample is divided into a control group with 32 students and an experimental group with 30 students. After checking the equalization of the two groups in certain related variables, the researcher conducts the experiment in which the students in the experimental group are taught speaking according to the TASC model while those in the control group are dealt with conventionally. The data collection instrument is the Public Speaking Anxiety Scale PSCAS is applied to the sample at the end of the experiment. The obtained data is statistically manipulated and the result reveals that TASC model has a positive effect on reducing speaking anxiety.
